Case Study:
The Old Vine Public House

Cousley Wood, East Sussex
Public house refurbishment and redecoration.

The Project

The Project
The Old Vine is an elegant 16th century country pub near Wadhurst. The exterior  weatherboarding had been painted only two years earlier but poor quality materials and decoration meant the paint was already peeling away. The challenge was to provide a durable quality finish for this historic building.

Our Solution

Our Solution
A thorough inspection soon showed why the paint was coming away. The most recent top coat was reacting against the old primer and undercoat. Poor preparation and low quality paints were the most obvious factor. Perfect Painting specified a high quality microporous coating for  the weatherboard, resistant to UV rays and containing  fungicides to inhibit surface mould growth.

The Outcome

The Outcome
Perfect Painting's thorough preparation paid off, completed with high quality paints. The pub owners were very happy with our work, which as well as  enhancing the attractiveness of the pub, came in on time and budget.
